YOUR SOURCE FOR DURABLE AND FUNCTIONAL BUILDINGS IN Clackamas & Washington County.
We construct buildings to be used for many different purposes such as shops, garages, commercial buildings, barns, and arenas.
THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN PLANNING YOUR PROJECT:
- What is the purpose(s) of the building?
- The dimensions of the building length, width, height.
- What excavation/site preparation will be needed?
- Utilities needed such as water, power, sewer, gas etc.?
- Will the walls need to be framed in a way so that you have the option of putting electrical, plumbing, or insulation in the walls?
- Will the roof have overhangs?
- If the roof has overhangs, will they be soffitted?
- Will the building have gutters?
- What material will be used for siding?
- What material will be used for roofing?
- Is there going to be a concrete floor and/or approaches?
- Quantity & size of garage doors, entry doors, and windows.
- Will the building be insulated?
- Will the building have any lofts/stairs/railing inside?
- Will the inside walls and ceiling be finished? If so, what materials?
- Will there be any attached structures?
Pole Buildings:
Pole buildings (post-frame construction) are traditionally constructed using wood poles sunk in the ground. Pole buildings are most popular for shops, barns and arenas as they are typically the most economical to construct because you can save on labor, foundation costs, and plywood sheathing. Pole buildings are commonly finished with metal siding and roofing.
Steel Buildings:
Steel buildings are constructed entirely of steel, there is no wood. Steel buildings are the strongest/most durable type of building, having the best resistance to fires, floods, etc. making them most popular for commercial applications and situations with large clear spans.
Hybrid Buildings:
Hybrid buildings are constructed using a combination of both wood and steel. Steel is used where it matters most-as the primary structural member so you won’t have any wood in the ground. Wood is used for the wall girts and roof purlins. This makes it easier to install wood sheathing/siding & finish the interior walls of the building.
Stick-Framed Buildings:
Stick-framed buildings are constructed the same way your typical home is constructed using a concrete foundation with wood framing. They are a good option for a high-quality shop that you plan to finish to match your home, put an apartment inside, etc.
